Al Sadd coach Felix Sanchez spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 18 match against Al Shahania.

“We are approaching the end of the season and we are now in the last five matches, this is another big match for us, like a final. We are now in the Round of 16 of AFC Champions League Elite and we did not have enough time to prepare.

“If we want to get closer to Al Duhail, we have to win, it is the only result that will help us and we are well aware of that.

“Al Shahania are a team that is having a distinguished season and in the Second Division it is even more distinguished, so it will not be easy to beat it, however, at this stage of the season. I think we are in a good position in terms of results and we will seek to continue performing in the same manner and put pressure on the teams ahead of us and get as close to them as possible,” said Sanchez.

Al Sadd defender Ahmed Suhail said, “The match against Al Shahania is important for us in the league journey. We achieved two victories over Al Duhail and Al Gharafa and we seek to continue the victories and gain three new points.

“The competition in the league championship is very difficult. We try to do our best to achieve victory in all upcoming matches, and we await the support of the leaders’ fans, who play a major role in supporting the team to achieve victories.”
