Al Arabi and Al Shamal will lock horns in Week 18 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Al Thumama Stadium on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The kick-off is at 9.30pm.
Al Arabi are currently in 10th place in the standings with 19 points, one point behind Al Wakrah and Qatar SC, who are in eighth and ninth place respectively.
Al Shamal occupy the sixth place with 23 points, one point behind Al Rayyan, who are in fifth place and advanced over Al Shamal by winning their previous round against Al Arabi (2-1), while Al Shamal were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Ahli, who are in fourth place.
Given the scenario, the match assumes great importance for both teams looking to advance a step further in the standings and to compensate for their loss of points in the previous round.
Al Shamal, under Spanish coach David Prats, are counting on their striking force represented by Baghdad Bounedjah, also the league’s top scorer, and Mohammed Omar and Tunisian Naim Sliti, to score against Al Arabi.
Al Arabi coach Spaniard Pablo Amo is also looking forward to please the team’s fans after their loss to Al Rayyan. He would be relying on the return of Yazan Al Naimat, with Youssef Msakni in the attack to add to the strengths of Marco Verratti, Jassem Jaber and Rodri Sanchez in the middle.
The strong line-ups of the two teams makes for a very competitive clash between the two teams.
