Al Rayyan will host Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia in the 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite Round of 16 first leg at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium of Al Rayyan club on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The kick-off is at 9pm.

Al Rayyan go into the match with the aim of a positive result that will help them in the second leg scheduled for March 11 in Jeddah. The Lions’ coach Arthur Jorge has reassured the readiness of his players after the match against Al Arabi in the Ooredoo Stars League, which Al Rayyan won by a 2-1 margin.

The coach also seeks to boost the confidence of his players, so they can cross the first hurdle against Al Ahli, considered as one of the strongest teams.

Al Rayyan had finished the West Zone league stage in seventh place with eight points (two wins, as many draws and four defeats). They scored eight goals and conceded 12.

Al Ahli had ended up the league stage in second place with 22 points, the same as Al Hilal but behind on goal difference. They recorded seven wins and one draw.

It may be noted that both teams had faced off in the league stage in third round at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium and Al Rayyan lost 1-2.
