Al Sadd face Al Wasl of the UAE in the 2024-2025 season AFC Champions League Elite Round of 16 first leg at the Zabeel Stadium in Dubai on Monday, March 3, 2025. The kick-off is at 9pm.

The match is of great importance to Al Sadd, who will seek to achieve a positive result before the return match in Doha at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on March 10.

Al Sadd had finished the West Zone league stage with 12 points from three wins, as many draws and two losses, while Al Wasl ended up fifth with 11 points from three wins, as many losses and two draws.

The two teams had met in the group stage at the Zabeel Stadium and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

They also met in the Qatar-UAE Super Shield match hosted by Al Sadd and Al Wasl won by a 1-0 margin.

It may be noted that the Round of 16 is played on a home-and-away basis.
