Al Ahli coach Igor Biscan spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 17 match against Al Shamal.

“We lost two matches in a row, against Qatar SC and Al Arabi, and suffered a third loss in the second leg of the league, which is not satisfactory for us especially since the team has a better level than it showed in the last matches.

“It is necessary for the team to present a distinguished level against Al Shamal, considered as one of the strongest teams in the current season. It is an organized team in all departments and has distinguished players, including Baghdad Bounedjah, one of the best strikers in the league, so we must appear at our best level in the match in order to return to the path of victories,” said Biscan.

Al Ahli player Amin Tihi said, “What happened to us in the last two rounds is a normal thing that happens in football. But it is important for us to return to the winning path.

“It is necessary for us to make every effort and overcome any circumstances that may hinder our progress this season. We will make every effort against Al Shamal in order to win the three points and return to the path of victories. It is very important for us to enter the match with full focus in order to win, especially since Al Shamal are a strong and distinguished team and the match will not be easy and we have to win it in order to regain confidence.”
