Al Shahania coach Jose Murcia spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 15 match against Al Rayyan.
“We are excited to face Al Rayyan in this round, especially after the victory achieved by the team in the last round, which put us in a good position. We want to take advantage of this victory to give us motivation in the match against Al Rayyan, which is considered very important and difficult, but we want the three points from it. If we win, we will take a new step forward that we are looking for as a team, management, players and technical staff.
“I respect Al Rayyan team a lot, but they will play to win.
“We have players capable of compensating for the absences, and as for the match against Al Rayyan, it is a match decided by small details, but I have great confidence in the players, and we are focusing on our team, strengths and capabilities in order to exploit them in the best way.
“Former coach Alvaro Mejia did great work. So were the management, players and technical staff. I seek to maintain the team’s image and high level of performance,” said Murcia.
Al Shahania player Moaz Al Wadie said, “The last match against Al Wakrah was important and we presented a great performance during it, and I am happy with what I presented, and this motivates me to present the best in the upcoming matches.
“We know that the upcoming match against Al Rayyan is very important. It is against a big team that has respect and we are ready and happy with the recent victory against Al Wakrah. The difference in points in the standings is very small. We will play to win against Al Rayyan.”
