Al Sadd coach Felix Sanchez and Al Wasl coach Milos Milojevic spoke to the media ahead of their Qatar-UAE Super Shield match to be held at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Sanchez said, “We are happy to represent Qatar in the match. It is a big match for us, and we have a great motivation to achieve victory and win the title. We are aware of Al Wasl’s strength, given their presence in the Champions League alongside us. It will be a difficult match and we will play it with all our strength in order to achieve victory despite the presence of some injured players.

“After the Gulf Cup, we resumed the matches, and not all the players were fully prepared, and there was not enough time to prepare, but we have to compete in every match we play. We will strive hard to win.

“As I said, we know each other well, as the players have faced each other many times before, and this makes things more difficult for the two teams. The details will make the difference, and we will strive to present our wonderful performance in front of our fans.”

Al Sadd player Pedro Miguel said, “This is the first time our club will be playing in the tournament, and we are excited to play the match and hope that things will be good and that we win the shield. We played with Al Wasl several months ago. They are a strong and good team, and all the players are confident of giving a good performance in the match. We hope that victory will be our ally. It is important to play in front of our fans, and this gives us additional strength. It is important to be stronger because we are playing in front of our fans.”

Al Wasl coach Milos Milojevic said, “We are happy to participate in this big tournament. Such tournaments serve football in the region. We do not only represent our club, but we also represent UAE football. We will do our best  and will strive to play a good match against a strong competitor from one of the best clubs in the Middle East. We have played with them before, and we respect Al Sadd a lot.

“We know everything about Al Sadd and they know everything about us. We must believe in ourselves and show courage and boldness in order to achieve victory. We faced Al Sadd, who have outstanding players, but I believe in my team’s capabilities even if our position in the UAE league is not good. We seek to develop the team from one match to the next. Al Sadd are led by a Spanish coach and we know that they have won many championships. For us, being in the Super Cup is a good experience and we always look forward to winning championships and achieving titles.”

Al Wasl player Ali Saleh said, “We know very well the importance of the match and we feel the responsibility placed on our shoulders. We will try to present a good level to please our fans and win the title. The many contests between us make the match difficult. We respect Al Sadd and know that it is a great team. We will play the match against them according to the coach’s tactics and we will try to achieve victory. One match in a championship, our focus is on presenting a distinguished level and achieving victory.”
