Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri and Al Nasr coach Alfred Schreuder spoke to the media ahead of the Qatar-UAE Super Cup match to be played at the Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai on Friday.

Safri said, “We are ready for the match and we aspire to win and claim the title. The match will certainly be difficult, especially since Al Nasr are one of the biggest clubs in the UAE. There is no doubt that the match will be difficult given that they have good players, especially in the midfield, but we have studied them well and we look forward to winning the game, and winning the cup.

“We have the determination and resolve to win and be crowned champions, and we hope to be successful in this ‘final’ match.

“I thank the club management for its support for the team by bringing in South African player Percy Tau, who is a strong addition to the team. I believe that he will not need a long time to adapt, given his presence alongside other distinguished players with high experience in the team, which will help him integrate quickly. Also, the first match he will play is a final and this should be a great incentive for him.

“All players must give their best in this match in order to win the Qatar-UAE Super Cup and make the fans happy.”

Qatar SC player Javi Martinez said, “We are fully prepared for this final match and we hope to win the title.

“The final does not need additional motivation for the players, but rather it is an incentive in itself and a great motivation for every player to do his best to win and lift the cup.”

Al Nasr coach Alfred Schreuder said, “We are excited to participate in the Super Cup against Qatar SC and we deserve to be here based on our performance and results last season.

“We are happy to play this big match against the Qatar team and we know how to play big and decisive matches. I think we feel more excited to be here, we reached the final last year but were not lucky enough to win, and it will be great to win in front of our fans.

“We know how and hope to control the match and push for a victory against Qatar SC.

“I think he (Percy Tau) is a good player and he will definitely play. He is a winger with great speed, but we have played a lot against distinguished players and we are not afraid to face any player, but we respect them and hope to play a good match against Qatar SC.”
