Al Gharafa face Al Wakrah in Week 10 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium of Al Gharafa club on Friday, November 22, 2024. The kick-off is at 6pm.

The two teams go into the match under similar circumstances, whether in terms of results or their positions in the standings.

Al Gharafa achieved a 3-1 victory over Al Arabi in the ninth round before the international break, during which The Cheetahs maintained their presence in the top four by occupying the fourth place with 15 points.

Al Wakrah scored a 3-0 win over Umm Salal in Week 9 to raise their points tally to 14 points. The Blue Wave are in fifth place in the rankings behind Al Gharafa by a solitary point.

Given the strength of both Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah and their placings, the battle to be in the top four is expected to be fierce.

Coaches - Pedro Martins of Al Gharafa and Ali Rahma Al Marri of Al Wakrah - will work to put up their best available line-up for the important game with the aim of clinching the three valuable points.

It may be noted that the two teams had faced off in the second round of QSL Cup at the Al Khor Stadium and Al Wakrah won 3-0.

Both teams have a wide selection of standout players who have been putting up strong performances since the start of the season. Al Gharafa rely on their attacking stars in veteran Algerian playmaker Yacine Brahimi, former Real Madrid player Spaniard Joselu, Romanian Florinel Coman, Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi and young winger Ahmed Al Ganehi.

As for Al Wakrah, they have the attacking duo of Jacinto Dala and Ricardo Gomes besides Ayoub Assal, Omar Salah and in the middle Aissa Laidouni and Hamdy Fathy.
