Qatar SC face Muaither in Week 10 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium of Qatar Sports Club on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The kick-off is at 5.30pm.

The circumstances of the two teams differ somewhat, but they both are in the relegation zone and need to wriggle out of the dire situation.

Qatar SC are 10th in the rankings with eight points, having achieved only two victories from their nine matches so far. They drew two games and lost five.

Qatar SC’s last loss was against Al Shamal 0-2, which was also a second successive defeat for them after suffering a reversal against Al Wakrah in the eighth round (0-1).

Although the results have improved since Portuguese coach Helio Sousa has taken charge of Qatar SC, the team again suffered negative results and there is a clear decline in their attacking play.

The coach certainly realizes that the continuation of disappointing results will only add to their woes. Hence, they need to find the winning touch quickly, more so with the presence of some distinguished players in the squad such as Ben Malango, Bruno Tabata, Sebastian Soria, Bashar Resan and Javi Martinez.

Qatar SC will miss their defender Raul Sanda, who was sent off during their match against Al Shamal.

As for Muaither, the side is motivated following their goalless draw against Al Rayyan in Week 9, which also broke the series of consecutive defeats for them.

Muaither recently signed Uruguayan coach Jorge da Silva as a replacement for Spaniard Jose Murcia and the new coach, along with his staff, will look to keep his team out of danger with more positive results following the good show against Al Rayyan in the last round.

Muaither are 11th in the standings with five points and certainly a victory over Qatar SC will provide them with momentum to bring out their best in the coming weeks.
