Muaither and Umm Salal will clash in Week 8 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium of Al Ahli club on Thursday, November 2, 2023. The kick-off is at 5.30pm.

It is a clash which brings together two teams looking to bounce back, both having suffered reversals in the previous round of the league championship.

Each team will look to compensate for the loss and return to winning ways. Muaither are in 10th spot in the rankings with four points, while Umm Salal are in seventh place with eight points on goal difference, behind Qatar SC (sixth).

Muaither will push hard to wriggle out of the danger zone early. They have come up with some strong performances but most of the results have not gone their way.

Muaither’s Spanish coach Jose Murcia would therefore aim to see the side returning to winning ways against Umm Salal, who have lost their last two matches to Al Rayyan (0-2) and to Al Wakrah (1-2) in Week 6 and 7 respectively.

The Muaither coach relies on many of his prominent players including top-scorer Guy Mbenza, Mamadou Sekou, Mohammed Salah El Neel, Ayman El Hassouni and other players.

As for Umm Salal, their French coach Patrice Carteron is trying hard for his team to make a comeback so as not to further slip in the standings. This match would be an opportunity for Umm Salal to regain their winning form, especially since the team fell from sixth to seventh place and if they fail to make a recourse, they may fall further in the standings. The team depends on Marwan Louadni, Andy Delort, Adel Alawi Al Sulimane, Nasser Al Nasr, Kenji Gorre, and Oussama Tannane.

The meeting is very important for both the teams given their position in the standings and their loss of points in the past matches. They will both seek to boost their confidence and return again to winning ways.
