Al Ahli coach Pedro Miguel spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 7 match against Al Arabi.

“We performed well against Qatar SC in the last round, but did not succeed in getting a positive result. It was not our day, so we lost the match despite the good level and reaction the players showed in the second half.

“The Al Arabi match is of great importance to the team, given the strength of the opponents on the one hand and our desire to win on the other hand. We worked to correct the mistakes and improve the performance in order to reach the best physical, technical and psychological levels of the players in preparation for the match.

“We also worked to prepare the players to face Al Arabi in order to provide the best level. At the same time, all players realize the importance of the match and know what they want.

“The competition is strong and Al Arabi are considered as one of the strong teams with good players capable of providing a distinguished level and achieving the desired result,” said Pedro Miguel.

Al Ahli player Naim Sliti said, “We seek to achieve the three points and hope to provide a distinguished level and achieve the required result against Al Arabi.

“As players, we have great confidence in our abilities to achieve victory despite losing five matches in the competition so far. The team is performing well with the new coach and, as time passes, Al Ahli will be stronger and better.

“We have the desire to return to winning path by defeating Al Arabi and the league is still at a stage where it is possible to compensate and achieve victories.”
