Muaither coach Jose Murcia spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 7 match against Al Sadd.

“Al Sadd are performing well in the league championship and are also coming back from a big win in the AFC Champions League, but we will give everything we have to achieve the victory, which gives us strong motivation to move forward towards achieving more victories in the coming rounds.

“Al Sadd are a big team and we respect them. They are undoubtedly one of the best teams in Qatar. We have to play with extreme caution and concentration, and exploit all possible opportunities in such difficult matches. We will exert all our efforts and energy to achieve the three points.

“We have a strong attack and we reach the goal in all the matches we play, but we lack in exploiting opportunities sometimes in addition to success. Therefore we intensify our training to work on addressing these mistakes and trying to correct them and not repeat them.

“I appreciate that the management and fans always stand with the team and we always work and strive to make them happy, and we urge them to continue to stand with the team in all circumstances,” said Murcia.

Muaither player Andri Syahputra said, “Al Sadd are a respectable and strong team, and it is our duty to reduce mistakes in such matches, and the most important thing is to exploit all available opportunities and score goals.

“We reach the goal a lot, but we have to work more to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to us, and we must be more serious with training to reach the required readiness that makes us enter any match with high confidence.”
