Al Duhail will host Iran’s Persepolis in the second round in Group E of 2023-2024 AFC Champions League on Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. The kick-off is at 9pm.

Group E also includes Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia and Esteghlal of Tajikistan.

Al Duhail are looking forward to achieving victory and collecting three points during this match in order to enhance their chances of qualifying for the next round, especially after their goalless draw with Tajikistan’s Esteghlal in the first round, while Al Nassr beat Persepolis.

Al Duhail will try to achieve the first three points by relying on a group of distinguished names in the squad of Argentine coach Hernan Crespo, such as Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho is a great technical addition to the attacking line along with Kenyan star Michael Olunga and Almoez Ali.

The Red Knights also have the services of Karim Boudiaf after he recovered from injury along with Luiz Martin Jr, Ismail Mohammed, Sultan Al Breik and Assim Madibo, while they may miss the injured Ibrahima Diallo and Edmilson due to injury.

Al Duhail had geared up for the face-off by beating Al Markhiya in the fifth round of Expo Stars League.

Meanwhile, Persepolis hope to compensate following their loss in their opener to Al Nassr.
