Al Sadd coach Bruno Miguel spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Gharafa.

“When we face Al Gharafa, it will definitely be an open match and both teams will play to win. Al Gharafa players are motivated because of the last match in which they scored the winning goal in the last moments against Al Duhail.

“It will be a difficult match for us, but I am sure it will also be difficult for Al Gharafa. We won our last match against Qatar SC and I think we deserved to win despite some complicated moments during the match. But this is football.

“The level of the league has risen this season and all teams have good players, so I think it will be a difficult season and all the matches will be very difficult.

“We have a busy schedule where we play a match and try to recover and then we play a second match. We face some problems due to the absence of some players, but in the end the players on the field show that they are able to compete and we offer the best in a bid to win all matches,” said Bruno Miguel.

Al Sadd goalkeeper Meshaal Barshim said, “The match between Al Sadd and Al Gharafa is always special and difficult for the two teams. Al Gharafa are coming off an important victory over Al Duhail and this is what increases the difficulty of the next match.

“We prepared well for the match to achieve victory. I am happy with what I am currently doing with the team and I seek to improve from one match to another. My goal is to win all championships with Al Sadd.
