Al Wakrah face Navbahor of Uzbekistan in a play-off of 2023-2024 AFC Champions League. The kick-off is at 6.30pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the Al Janoub Stadium.

The winner of this match will qualify for the group stage, the draw for which will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

Al Wakrah qualified for the play-off by virtue of having finished fourth in the 2022-2023 season league championship with 39 points, behind champions Al Duhail, Al Arabi and Al Sadd in that order.

It may be noted that Al Wakrah had made a good start to the Expo Stars League this season by defeating Muaither 3-0 in Week 1.

Al Wakrah are seeking their first entry into the group stage of Asia’s premier tournament.

The Blue Wave, coached by Spaniard Marquez Lopez, have a strong squad consisting of local and foreign professional players.

They will also expect the presence of their fans in large numbers, especially given that they are in a must-win situation.
