Al Gharafa coach Andrea Stramaccioni spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Arabi.

“Al Arabi’s match against Al Gharafa is a ‘final’ because it is a match that will greatly decide the competition between us and Al Arabi for fourth place, and we have to think that it is a 90-minute match. We know that well and are ready for this challenge.

“I like this match more because it is one of the matches that we are waiting for and working for. As you know, Al Gharafa are competing this season in four competitions, namely the League, Amir Cup, Ooredoo Cup and AFC Champions League, and we will prepare for the Al Arabi match with utmost seriousness and commitment.

“Our player Amro Seraj will sit out injured and the medical staff are working hard to regain the services of Saeid Ezotolahi. But I do not want have much expectations in this regard. I had said before the Al Rayyan match that any player who enters the field must be ready to fight with the team. And as I told you on more than one occasion, I can guarantee you that any player who will participate will give off his best and that is why the absences do not worry me too much because we are playing in a good spirit at the moment,” said Stramaccioni.

Al Gharafa player Mustafa Essam said, “Thank God, I am full of enthusiasm, desire and strength to prove that my prolonged injury layoff did not affect me. I am now ready and waiting for the opportunity.

“We have a crucial match against Al Arabi and all players are ready for the match. We have to implement the coach’s instructions and our great focus is on the three points especially since we are equal with Al Arabi in points.

“I urge all Al Gharafa fans to attend the match at the stadium and support the players. It is a great motivation for all players.”
