Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Al Ahli.

“The players showed the necessary focus during these trainings and made clear their desire to give their utmost during the next match in order to restore the tone of victories quickly and stay on course for the lead.

“We are well aware that we will face a strong team and therefore the match will be very difficult and winning it cannot be achieved easily. If the air-conditioned stadiums are not available to everyone, then it is normal for all the teams to play in non-air-conditioned stadiums, and the truth is that I am very angry about this.

“There is no doubt that playing such matches in non-air-conditioned stadiums will negatively affect the performance of the players on the field. Everyone knows the nature of the weather in this period, but this does not prevent us from emphasizing that we will make every possible effort to achieve the desired result,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Lucas Mendes said, “The team trained well in preparation for the Al Ahli match, hoping that we would be able to reap the points of this match.

“There is no dispute that this match will be difficult for us, especially since we will face a strong team that has presented strong levels in the league so far and had a strong start in the previous matches. But this does not prevent us from collecting full points in order to resume the series of victories.
