Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Umm Salal.
“We are going through very difficult conditions before this match, as there are many new injury worries as throughout this season our players have suffered many injuries due to the pressure of matches. That will undoubtedly affect the team’s performance, but we must work to win.
“We know that Umm Salal are in a comfortable position and we had a good period of stability in which we scored many points, which was due to the great work we did with the players. We have a great squad and our match against Umm Salal will be difficult due to the circumstances of injuries, but we must be working with the existing players and preparing them in a way that makes the team achieve the desired result. We did not forget our defeat in the first leg and it will not be repeated this time,” said Castro.
Al Duhail player Mohammed Al Naimi said, “We are ready for the next match in the league against Umm Salal and we know that they are a very good team and always performed well this season. But we will work with full focus to appear as required in this match and get a positive result.
“Our last draw against Al Sadd was not our ambition, but it was a positive result considering the strength of Al Sadd this season. That will certainly give us the motivation to continue to perform well in the matches and achieve the required results.
“I have been with the Al Duhail team since childhood and have been associated with these players for a long time. Everyone helps me on the field and gives me the confidence I need to do well with the team.”
