Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Shamal.

“The Al Shamal match is strong and the opponent is distinguished by focus and discipline, and we will work to win the match. Our current ambition is to be in a suitable position after the team won the last match against Al Ahli and we advanced to sixth place in the table. We are ready for the match and we will play very seriously because depending on the result of the match we can change our course this season.

“That is why I told the players and technical staff that it is very important that we prepare as seriously as possible, we are in sixth place in the league and we must continue our victories and take steps forward.

“All players have a great ambition to win and we must currently focus on winning the match and the three points. We are capable of providing the best and we must benefit from the morale boost for the team after the victory over Al Ahli,” said Carteron.

Umm Salal player Oussama Tannane said, “Umm Salal players are fully prepared to score points and the match will be very difficult, especially since Al Shamal are a strong team. We must be careful and present our best for victory.

“The victory over Al Ahli in the last round was very good for the confidence and high morale of the players, and we must benefit from this victory very well and strongly.”
