The 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League’s Week 19 action, held on April 13, 14 and 15, 2023, witnessed strong competition and high-scoring matches.

A total of 26 goals were scored and Al Wakrah beat Al Shamal for the biggest margin of victory. The Al Arabi vs Al Ahli match saw the most number of goals (seven), and Al Gharafa and Al Sadd kept a clean sheet.
Al Arabi continued their good run this season and rose to the top of the table again with 43 points, taking advantage of Al Duhail’s loss to Al Gharafa. The Red Knights are in second place with 42 points. However, they have a postponed match against Al Rayyan from Week 15 on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
Al Gharafa hotted up the battle among the top four with an exciting victory and rose to the fourth place with 32 points, behind Al Sadd who cemented the third position with 38 points after defeating Qatar SC 2-0.
Al Rayyan advanced one place from 10th to ninth, on goal difference from Al Shamal, as both of them are on 17 points.
Al Wakrah did well in their 5-1 victory over Al Shamal, riding mainly on the brilliance of Angolan top scorer Jacinto Dala who scored a brace to be back as the league top scorer with 15 goals, ahead of Al Duhail striker Michael Olunga and Al-Arabi player Omar Al Somah.
Al Wakrah raised their score to 30 points in fifth place, while Al Shamal dropped to 10th from ninth with 17 points, the same as Al Rayyan but behind on goal difference following their 2-2 draw with Al Sailiya.
Al Arabi made it great by beating Al Ahli 4-3 in a thriller, with Yousef Msakni scoring two goals, and Abdullah Al Muraisi and Omar Al Somah netting one each.
Al Arabi stayed on top of the standings after Al Duhail lost 0-2 to Al Gharafa the following day, Ishak Belfodil and Moayad Hassan scoring for The Cheetahs.
Al Rayyan and Al Sailiya settled for a 2-2 draw.
Yohan Boli and Abdulaziz Hatem scored for Al Rayyan, but Al Sailiya hit back through goals from Mohamed Diame and Sergio Strandberg. All four goals were scored in the first half.
On the last day, Umm Salal and Al Sadd defeated Al Markhiya and Qatar SC 3-2 and 2-0 respectively.
Akram Afif and Ahmed Al Saeed scored the goals for Al Sadd.
Al Markhiya fought hard against Umm Salal despite the red-card suspension of their defender Khaled Radwan in the 16th minute.
Umm Salal raised their tally to 16 points with their third victory this season, while Al Markhiya remained on 18 points in eighth place.

Competition hotted up between a number of players at the top of the scorers’ list as Dala topped the list with 15 goals. He is followed by the duo of Olunga and Al Somah (both 14 goals), and Msakni (13 goals).
