Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-23 season QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Sailiya.

“Our preparations to face Al Sailiya in the third round of QNB Stars League competition have been good. In our last match against Al Markhiya, we shared the two halves equally (in the 1-1 draw). But I have great confidence in the players and their ability to make a difference and achieve victory over Al Sailiya, especially since everyone is aware of the responsibility and is keen to earn winning points.

“We were keen to correct the mistakes we made in our last match. Sebastian Soria and Bashar Rasan have returned to training with the group which is full of enthusiasm and the team will be ready for the next match with a lot of optimism to achieve a positive result.

“I thank everyone who has contributed to the training of our young players. We have 7 to 8 players from the club’s other age groups and we reap the fruits and results of the hard work. Their participation in the league with their senior colleagues such as Sebastian, Badr Benouon, Javi Martinez and Mohammed Salem gives them more confidence and motivation to do their best. It is an important step that will have a positive influence on the team now and in the near future,” said Safri.

Qatar SC player Matasem Majed said, “Everyone in the team is aware of his responsibilities and there is no doubt that our previous match ended in a draw but it was like a loss for us. So we have to redouble our efforts and do everything we can to earn winning points in the match against Al Sailiya.”
