Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 17 match against Al Khor.
“Our desire to win and obtain full points underlines the importance of the match. We will play for victory and the three points in order to get back on the winni9ng path.
“I have renewed confidence in our players’ ability to achieve victories despite the difficulty of the opponents we face, especially in this difficult stage of the competition, which pushes all teams to achieve victories and collect points.
“All clubs competing for points feel the pressure and that is football. It always puts pressure on everyone and makes them do their best. In the end, the teams reap the result of hard work and efforts, and this is the fun and peculiarity of football.
“We had prepared well during the break, even though we missed five important players, who did not train with us because of their commitments with the national teams. Some of them were on Qatar Olympic team duty, but the rest of the players were training and preparing for the upcoming matches as everyone was aware of the importance of this stage and the need to achieve victories in the league.
“The first priority is the Al Khor match and all players are focusing on it,” said Nebojsa.
Al Ahli player Khaled Mohamed said, “We must be doing well against Al Khor especially since we prepared well for this game. All players have the desire to provide the best level and achieve the three points.
“Al Khor are a strong team and facing them will not be easy, but we are fully prepared for the match. Our ranks are complete and we are all determined to achieve victory.
“The most important thing is to progress in a good position in the league standings. The technical staff are doing their work well in order to make the players ready for the matches.”
