The Week 16 fixtures of 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League were marked by intense competition and a fervent pursuit of victory and points as the tournament neared its conclusion.
The matches were played on Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23, 2025, with each contest resulting in a win, as there were no draws recorded.
The encounters between Al Gharafa and Qatar SC as well as Al Arabi and Al Ahli produced a total of 12 goals, with each match concluding with a scoreline of 4-2.

A total of 25 goals were scored, resulting in an average of 4.16 goals per match. Additionally, five penalty kicks were awarded, three of which occurred during the match between Al Arabi and Al Ahli. Notably, Al Shamal, Al Sadd and Al Rayyan all maintained clean sheets.
Furthermore, two red cards were issued to Al Duhail’s Ibrahima Kader and Suhaib Gannan of Al Wakrah, with the latter receiving marching orders in the first minute of their match against Al Rayyan. As many as 17 yellow cards were issued.
Standings after Week 16
Al Sadd and Al Gharafa intensified their battle for the top position, narrowing the gap with leaders Al Duhail to just one point. Al Duhail hold 35 points, while Al Sadd and Al Gharafa occupy the second and third position respectively with 34 points following their victories. Al Sadd beat Al Duhail in a crucial match, while Al Gharafa secured a win against Qatar SC.
Al Ahli faced their second consecutive defeat, but managed to retain fourth place, whereas Al Shahania celebrated their fourth straight victory, solidifying their fifth-place standing. Al Shamal also returned to winning form.
Al Arabi moved up from 10th to eighth place based on goal difference over Qatar SC, who fell to ninth after this round’s loss. Meanwhile, Umm Salal and Al Khor continued to occupy the 11th and 12th position respectively.
In the race for the top scorer, Algerian forward Baghdad Bounedjah extended his lead by netting both goals for his team against Al Khor, bringing his total to 17 goals. He is followed by Brazilian Roger Guedes of Al Rayyan, who has 14 goals after scoring twice in his team’s 4-0 victory over Al Wakrah. Rafa Mujica of Al Sadd has 11 goals after contributing one goal, while another Al Sadd star Akram Afif has 10 goals.
