Muaither face Al Gharafa in Week 17 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium of Al Ahli club on Monday, March 11, 2024. The kick-off is at 9.30pm.

The match is of great importance for both teams, as they look forward to achieve victory and collecting the three points.

Al Gharafa tied with leaders Al Sadd 2-2 in the last round and fell to third place in the table on goal difference with second-placed Al Rayyan, who won 3-0 over Al Wakrah.

Al Gharafa have 31 points, collected from nine wins, four draws and two defeats.

Meanwhile, Muaither succeeded in continuing their positive results and strong performances by drawing 1-1 with Al Ahli, reaching the third match in a row without losing.

Since losing 2-4 to Al Wakrah on December 20, 2023, in Week 12, Muaither have succeeded in defeating Al Markhiya 2-0 and drawing 0-0 with Al Shamal.

The team, which is ranked 11th with 11 points collected from two victories, five draws and eight defeats, hope to be able to achieve a positive result against The Cheetahs, knowing that the first-leg match between the two teams ended with Al Gharafa winning 5-2.

Muaither are counting on the strength of their defence, especially after the duo of Hugo Gomes and Yazan Al Arab joined the team in the winter transfer period, to confront the danger and strength of Al Gharafa’s attack, represented by prominent Algerian star Yacine Brahimi, who tops the list of scorers in the league with 17 goals.

While Al Gharafa seek to regain second place in the league and continue in the race for the top spot with Al Sadd and Al Rayyan by not stumbling against Muaither, they rely on the good technical condition of their players, especially in the midfield led by Ferjani Sassi, who succeeded in scoring a goal in the last match against Al Sadd, as well as the strong defensive line led by Serbia’s Lyanco Vojnovic.
