Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Qatar SC.

“On my part, I would have preferred not to have a break, especially since we have achieved good results in the league, but this is it. The schedule of matches, and this is something that happens with all teams, and in general we are working well and in the same spirit. We will be ready for these remaining matches, foremost of which is facing Qatar SC, who are direct competitors and it is important for us to win this match.

“I am sure that everyone will be ready for this match and we do not have any kind of injuries and this is good for us. The players are ready for those matches and of course if we beat Qatar SC, the number of our direct competitors will decrease in the top four, therefore it is an important match for us. Our players are physically ready. Mentally, they have been working well since I joined the club.

“I know that their striker suffered a severe injury a month ago and he was an important player in the team, but they have other players with good experience alongside foreign professional players at a high level, and it will be a difficult match because it is a team that has a good coach. They have a system of play that makes them play matches well, we understand that. We will be required to focus on our potential in order to maintain our playing strategy throughout the match, which is important for us to be able to win it,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa player Abdullah Yousef said, “We are all ready for the game against Qatar SC who have high-level players. Our goal is to win three points.

“I urge our fans to support the players. We will do our best to win the match.”
