Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 20 match against Al Arabi.

“The preparation for this match took a long time and it started after the end of the previous match, and this is good for us that we have time to prepare for the match. Now I confirm that all players are fully prepared and highly focused in training for this important match.

“Al Arabi are very good and present a distinguished level this season. Now, they have Amir Cup and are competing for the title, and are in second place in the league. Therefore, they are doing a great job, starting with the technical and administrative staff and the players. They are performing well this season, which confirms that our game against them will be very difficult,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Yousef Al Khatib said, “The team ranks are complete after injury absences and now everyone is ready for this game.

“Spanish coach Marquez Lopez fully prepared the team for this match in all technical and physical aspects, and therefore our ambitions are great to achieve victory in order to continue the competition for the top four, and this is our main goal during the remainder of the league competition.

“I focus first on participating as a mainstay with the first team and to participate with The Blue Wave in the AFC Champions League, while the team remains in the competition for the first places in the league championship because we have all the capabilities that help us achieve this goal.”
