Al Duhail coach Hernan Crespo spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 14 match against Al Markhiya.

“Very dangerous game awaits us because of the psychological state of the players since we are playing this after the 2023 Qatar Cup semifinal and before our match in the AFC Champions League. I ask the players not to distract their thoughts and I fully trust them and we will work to achieve victory to ensure our position in the championship.

“I always try to choose the best 11 players who are technically and physically ready, and the squad is always according to the strategy of the match. There are matches that require a squad with certain technical characteristics, and currently I do not think about our match against Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League.

“I am happy with what the team's attackers do in matches. The team has Michael Olunga, the league's top scorer, and there is Nam Tae-Hee who helped the team achieve victory in the last match against Al Wakrah. There is also Almoez Ali and I cannot ask them for more than that. They scored nine goals in four matches, which is special,” said Crespo.

Al Duhail player Diab Haroun said, “Everyone knows that it will be an important match for us to secure our position and maintain the points difference, and we want to win it before turning to prepare for our match in the AFC Champions League.

“My presence in the squad comes according to the view of the technical staff, but I continue my training with all seriousness with the team in order to be ready whenever the technical staff use me. And I benefit from my presence with the team and from the experienced players, and I am still young. I want to gain more experience and do not want to rush to participate now.”
