Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 19 match against Al Gharafa.

“We had four days after the end of Al Shahania match in the Amir Cup, during which we had two days to prepare for the Al Gharafa match. We had a recovery session on one of these days and gave the players a rest on the other day. Now everything is clear to the team, we just need to focus and put up a good display in this match.

“Everyone knows the importance of this period because these results will determine many important matters,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah goalkeeper Mohammed Saeed Ibrahim said, “The Al Gharafa match will make the difference in the remaining rounds of league competition. I am confident in my team's ability to win and overcome this difficult situation.

“We started preparing for this match immediately after the Al Shahania match. Al Gharafa are a big team in the league for its distinctive style and good players, and now the competition between us is strong for the third place. Our victory in this game may be very crucial.

“I would like to thank my fellow goalkeeper Saoud Al Khater for his performance, which always keeps us on the winning path. We encourage each other and work hard for better performance. Saoud has performed wonderfully in the current season.”
