Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 6 match against Umm Salal.
“First, I would like to thank HE Sheikh Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, President of Qatar SC, and all members of administration for the confidence in me. They have given me this responsibility and I am also happy returning to Qatar SC where I played for five years. I hope to live up to everyone’s expectations and that I am worthy of this trust. I also thank everyone for the great welcome I have received since I came to Doha, including from the players who expressed their willingness to give off their best.
“We are facing Umm Salal in the sixth round and it is an important match for us. The difficulty of the current circumstances will not stand in the way of correcting the path and that is how I feel. We have a great backroom staff and equally great set of players who are among the best in the country. These are important factors that can help us achieve good results. We have a collective goal and that is to get good results,” said Safri.
Qatar SC player Khaled Waleed said, “We will do everything we can for the team. There is a positive atmosphere, keenness and co-operation to help the technical staff so that we can achieve the best results.
“Unfortunately, we stumbled at the beginning of the season, but there is still room to get back on the right track by playing well. We must aim at winning every game we play until the end of the season.
“We have worked hard since the beginning of the season and all players are keen to give off their best. Everyone is at the same level and we, the players, have the same desire to get as many points as possible.”
