Al Gharafa coach Pedro Martins spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 14 match against Al Rayyan.

“The preparations were good in view of the atmosphere the team is going through, which is continuing to achieve victories, which increases confidence among the players and makes them stronger. Then we send our message to the fans to come and support the players in these difficult moments.

“I think we will go through different moments in the match and we will share the advantage between us and Al Rayyan. Some periods we will have more possession of the ball and in others the situation will be for Al Rayyan, but we have to be patient when the ball is with us and I know the level of confidence among our players and we have to be smart in this type of match.

|Although Al Rayyan did not start the tournament well, it is a team with good capabilities and a good coach, and it will be an interesting match.

“I urge our fans to help the players. Our fans are wonderful and they are always the 12th player on the field and they are very important to the players,” said Martins.

Al Gharafa player Ahmed Al Janahi said, “The preparations for the match were good, as are the preparations for every match. The Al Rayyan match will be difficult and the competitor is a good team, and recently signed a new coach. They are an organized team and we must focus on our performance.

“We are ready for the match and God-willing we will win the three points. I urge our fans for continued support in the matches, especially since the team is in second place and aspires to reach first place.”
