Jordan Veretout's last-gasp goal ensured Al Arabi secured the maximum points as they defeated Umm Salal 3-2 in their Week 3 match of the 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al ThumamaStadium on Friday.

Michael Baidoo opened the scoring for Umm Salal in the 28th minute after connecting perfectly with an overhead pass from Oussama Tannane to hit the roof with a rocket of a shot.

Al Arabi, who had been pressing hard since conceding, finally got a reprieve just before halftime with Wassim Keddari nodding home a perfect cross from Pablo Sarabia to restore parity.

Tannane got himself on the scorers' sheet four minutes into the second half with a right-footed shot from a set piece that goalkeeper Yousof Hassan had no answer to.

Umm Salal's lead, however, only lasted for five minutes before substitute Ahmed Doozandeh, who replaced Mohamed Gouda at halftime, restored parity for the home team.

While it seemed the highly entertaining match was heading for a stalemate, Veretout scored in the ninth minute of added time to ensure victory for the Dream Team.
