Al Arabi face Al Shamal in Week 14 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Arabi Stadium on Wednesday. The kick-off is at 16:45.

The match is important for both teams as they look forward to collect the three points, mainly to satisfy their fans.

Both teams have national coaches, with Younes Ali being at the helm of Al Arabi and Wesam Rizik recently taking over Al Shamal from Moroccan coach Hisham Zahid.

Al Arabi are placed second with 25 points from 12 matches and will be keen to sustain the momentum, having got back to winning ways in the league by beating Al Rayyan 3-0 in the last round.

However, The Dream Team, who have registered eight victories so far, will also look to make amends as they had lost 1-3 to Al Sadd in the Qatar Cup 2023 semifinal last Thursday.

Al Arabi, who are only four points adrift of leaders Al Duhail, will be without injured Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson. He had missed the Qatar Cup match against Al Sadd.

On the other hand, Al Shamal, despite losing 0-5 to Al Sailiya in the last round, will be motivated under the new coach.

Al Shamal are now in ninth position with 10 points from as many matches. They have three victories and one draw to their credit, while they lost six matches.

Al Arabi had beaten Al Shamal 1-0 in the first leg of 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League.
