Al Rayyan coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 5 match against Al Wakrah.
“The Al Wakrah match will be a big one between two good teams, each team has 11 players fighting for victory, we respect them a lot and we will play to win the three points.
“The team is disappointed with the result of the match against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, in view of the wonderful performance we presented. If the team presented the same performance against Al Wakrah and presented 99 per cent of its capabilities, it would win the match.
“After the Al Duhail match, the team has been developing from one match to another, as it presented good levels in the QSL Cup and then succeeded in defeating Al Shahania in the league. We played a great match against arguably the best team in Asia and we must maintain that to achieve victory against Al Wakrah,” said Asbaghi.
Al Rayyan player Tamim Mansour said, “The team is continuing its preparations well to face Al Wakrah. It will be a difficult match, not just this match but all the matches that Al Rayyan play. We will be physically and psychologically ready to win the three points.
“The team is not suffering from any pressure, especially since they are players in the first team and are accustomed to this pace of matches.”
