Al Wakrah face Qatar SC in Week 14 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Wednesday. The kick-off is at 16:45.

This meeting is a chance for both teams to compensate for the defeats suffered in their last week's matches. Al Wakrah had lost 0-4 to Al Gharafa, while Qatar SC were beaten by a similar margin by Al Markhiya.

Al Wakrah fell to sixth place after being in the top four whereas Qatar SC’s winning streak of four games has been snapped.

The strong contest between the two sides given their points tally adds to the eagerness and excitement. Al Wakrah, who have 18 points, seek to regain victories and strengthen their position.

On the other hand, Qatar SC, currently fourth with 19 points, want to return to their top form.

Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri will be doing his best to keep the players motivated and would want the team to return to winning ways.

Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez will try to restore the confidence of his players after they lost to Al Duhail 1-2 in the semifinal of Qatar Cup 2023.

The Blue Wave will be focused on re-entering the top four of the rankings. The team relies on a number of top players, led by Mohamed Benyettou, Jacinto Dala and goalkeeper Saoud Al Khater.

Qatar SC’s Safri will also strive for his players to return to their earlier rhythm knowing well that a win would restore the confidence and morale. The Kings rely on their stars Sebastian Soria, Javi Martinez, Omar Al Emadi and Bashar Resan. They will be missing Ben Malango, who is nursing an injury, and Javier Pastore, who is serving suspension.
