Al Wakrah face Al Sadd in the postponed match from Week 11 of the 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 16:30 at the Al Wakrah Stadium on Monday, 31st January, 2022.
The match was postponed from 30th December as many Al Wakrah players were infected with coronavirus.
Al Wakrah are third in the table with 28 points. They had kept the third position with a convincing 4-0 victory over strong title contenders Al Duhail in Week 16 on 22nd January.
The Blue Wave are doing well of late. Spaniard Marquez Lopez’s wards have eight wins, four draws and three defeats from 14 matches. They have a goal difference of +9 (24 goals for and 15 against).
Meanwhile, Al Sadd are topping the table with 37 points. They have two other games in hand and have recorded 12 wins and one draw from 13 matches.
The Wolves, coached by Spaniard Javi Gracia, have a goal difference of +33 (50 goals for and 17 against).
Al Sadd beat Al Arabi by a 4-2 margin in the high-profile Qatar Derby in Week 16 and are well on course to retain the coveted league shield.
Both teams are in tremendous form and have a star-studded line-up. The face-off is sure to be a thriller.
Al Wakrah mainly depend on the attacking quartet of Mohamed Benyettou, Jacinto Dala, Abdulgani Munir and Khaled Munir.
Al Sadd will have the duo of Andre Ayew and Baghdad Bounedjah in action after their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, and the return of Pedro Miguel and Boualem Khoukhi from injury.
