Al Gharafa coach Andrea Stramaccioni spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 22 match against Al Sailiya.
“I do not agree that the match will be easy. Rather, it will be very difficult for two reasons. The first is that Al Sailiya play in order to avoid relegation to the second division. The second is that they did not lose in the league during a number of recent matches, which confirms that they were technically very good in the second leg. As far as we are concerned, we are coming from a strong match against Qatar SC in the Amir Cup quarterfinal and not all of our players are in good shape, so it will be a difficult match.
“Certainly all players are important to us and, as you know, we rely on our plan on three defensive players. I am happy with the return of Amro Seraj.
“The only player who will miss the match is Homam Al Ameen due to suspension,” said Stramaccioni.
Al Gharafa player Yousef Saeed said, “Thank God, I recovered from the injury I suffered in the ankle, and starting next week I will start training with the team.
“The preparations (for the Al Sailiya match) are good and every player gives 100 per cent in training for the upcoming matches. They are ready to face Al Sailiya.
“Certainly our ambitions are great and every player offers his best, and we hope to succeed in all upcoming matches during the season.”
