Al Sailiya face Al Sadd in Week 5 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 19:20 at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday, 30th August, 2022.

The match assumes great importance for both sides more so for defending champions Al Sadd, who are looking to bounce back after their recent reversal against Al Gharafa. The Wolves are seventh in the table with four points gained from one win, a draw and two losses.

Al Sailiya, on the other hand, are 11th in the standings with three points to their credit from one win. They have suffered three defeats and are looking forward to achieving a positive result to hold on to their chance of competing for an advanced position.

Al Sadd lost their last match 1-2 to Al Gharafa, whereas Al Sailiya lost 0-1 to Umm Salal. Both teams would aim to iron out the flaws and start afresh.

The two teams have been preparing well for this match with rigorous training sessions.

Al Sadd will miss their star Rodrigo Tabata after he sent off against Al Gharafa and has a suspension of two matches.

Al Sadd coach Juan Manuel Lillo ‘Juanma’ will try to find an appropriate alternative for the attacking Tabata and is expected to field Hashem Ali, who has recovered from an injury.

Al Sailiya coach Sami Trabelsi is aware of the Al Sadd challenge and would want his players to be both cautious and aggressive in their approach to get a positive result.
