Umm Salal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 5 match against Al Rayyan.

“Al Rayyan have good players and I expect the match to be a difficult one just as all the matches in the league. We have prepared strongly, especially since our last meeting with Al Sailiya in the fourth round and the victory that was achieved will motivate the team to go against Al Rayyan.

“Our win and a draw against Al Rayyan last season was something in the past and we do not think about it. Every match has its own circumstances,” said Wesam.

Umm Salal goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar said, “The Al Rayyan game is important for us and we seek a second victory in order to advance a step in the league table. Our win in the last round has been a morale booster. Our preparations have been good at the technical, physical and tactical levels in order to appear well against Al Rayyan.”
