Al Duhail coach Luis Castro spoke to the media ahead of their 2021-2022 season QNB Stars League Week 17 match against Al Rayyan.
“A very important match for us against a good team and we know how difficult it is, but we are determined to compensate for our recent results and performances. Therefore, we are preparing for it strongly in order to achieve the result we want.
“We are not at the same level we were in when we beat Al Rayyan with a 3-0 margin in the first leg. We were strong in that match.
“We benefited a lot from this break because most of our players were present in training and I am very happy with our work during this break. Players are training continuously and now we have to translate the chances on the field into goals,” said Castro.
Al Duhail player Karim Boudiaf said, “The game against Al Rayyan requires focus on the part of players, because our matches against each other are always strong. They are a very good team that offers great levels and the game is very important, but we are ready for this match.
“Everyone knows that the team is going through a bad stage, as we lost against Al Wakrah and tied against Al Khor and Al Sailiya, but these things happen in the world of football. We will try to change the picture and return to the winning path, especially since there are other championships for us on way, such as Amir Cup and AFC Champions League.”
