Al Rayyan face Al Sailiya in Week 8 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 16:15 at the Al Ahli Stadium on Thursday, 5th January, 2023.

Both teams are in similar situation as Al Sailiya are in 11th position and Al Rayyan last with four and one points respectively.

Al Rayyan, a big team with high credentials, need to improve their game and make up for the lost points in the first rounds in order to satisfy their loyal fans.

They lost six games and have only one draw to show for their efforts so far. Al Rayyan are the only side yet to register a victory. They have a goal difference of -6 (four goals for and 10 against).

The Lions had recently strengthened their defence by signing Japanese World Cupper Shogo Taniguchi and goalkeeper Ivanildo Rodriguez on loan from Al Ahli till the end of this season.

On the other hand, Al Sailiya have one win to their credit. Sami Trabelsi’s wards drew one match and lost five games. The Peregrines have a goal difference of -7 (seven goals for and 14 against).

Both teams have strengths and weaknesses, and it all will depend on the performance of players on the field.
