Al Ahli face Al Arabi in Week 8 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 18:25 at the Al Ahli Stadium on Thursday, 5th January, 2023.

Al Ahli are placed fifth with 10 points. Al Shamal and Qatar SC too have the same number of points, but are placed sixth and seventh respectively on goal difference.

Al Ahli won two matches, drew four and lost one, and have a goal difference of +1 (13 goals for and 12 against). The Brigadiers, coached by Nebojsa Jovovic, are aiming to get back to winning ways following hard-fought draws in their last two games – 3-3 against Al Gharafa in Week 5, 2-2 against Al Wakrah in Week 6 and 2-2 against Al Shamal in Week 7.

Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic is looking for solutions to tighten his team’s defence, more so after they conceded goals after being 3-1 against Al Gharafa and 2-0 against Al Wakrah.

On the other hand, Al Arabi would be keen to stay as table toppers. The Dream Team have 16 points, one more than second-placed Al Duhail.

Al Arabi have registered five victories, one draw and a defeat. They have a goal difference of +7 (13 goals for and six against). The only reversal they suffered was at the hands of Al Duhail in Week 5 when they lost by a 0-3 margin.

However, Al Arabi overcame that setback in no time and beat Al Sailiya 5-1 in Week 6 and played out a 1-1 draw with Umm Salal before the tournament took a long break for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Al Arabi coach Younes Ali relies on a number of outstanding players, such as Tunisian Yousef Msakni, who was in action at the World Cup, Aron Gunnarsson, Abdulaziz Al Ansari, Marc Martinez, Abdullah Al Marafi, Ahmed Fathi, Helal Mohammed and Omar Al Soma.
