Al Markhiya face Al Duhail in Week 4 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 17:20 at the Khalifa International Stadium on Monday, 22nd August, 2022.

Both teams are in search of their second win in the new season and the match is expected to be exciting and strong.

Al Duhail are seeking their second successive victory after having achieved the first of the competition last week defeating Al Rayyan 2-1 after their substitute Khaled Mohammed Saleh scored a goal to snatch victory in the final minutes of the match.

Al Duhail’s Argentinian coach Hernan Crespo, however, is aware that Al Markhiya will not be easy opponents. The Red Knights also have their attacking line-up affected in the absence of injured Edmilson Junior.

Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi has also been left out after he suffered an injury, forcing Al Duhail to replace him with Algerian Adlene Guedioura in the squad.

Al Duhail lost in the first round match against Al Wakrah, then tied in the second round against Al Ahli, and won in the third round against Al Rayyan for a tally of four points.

Al Markhiya, in contrast, have made a great start to their new season by defeating Al Sadd in the opening round, then scoring a draw against Qatar SC before losing in the previous round to Al Arabi. Al Markhiya also have four points to their credit and aim to continue their good run against Al Duhail.

Coach Abdullah Mubarak is counting on the good form of Jugurtha Hamroun and Ayman Hussein for the team to trouble Al Duhail goalkeeper Shehab Ellethy.

The team, however, will miss the services of their Algerian professional Ayoub Azzi for the second match in a row after he was expelled in the second round match against Qatar SC.
