Al Arabi coach Pablo Amo spoke to the media ahead of their 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League Week 3 match against Umm Salal.
He said, “We are fully aware that our start (to the season) hasn’t been as we had hoped. We drew in the first round against Al Wakrah, then lost in the second. This result didn’t fully reflect the players’ efforts, but it does reflect a reality for which we bear responsibility. Now, it is time to come back strong and start over. We must work hard, focus, and be disciplined.”
Regarding Yazan Al Naimat, the Al Arabi coach said, “Yazan is an Al Arabi player, and I have praised him greatly for his efforts in training. He is indispensable to the team. As for his participation or not, that’s a purely technical decision. We consider our technical needs in each match, and I will undoubtedly rely heavily on him at this stage.
“We are going into the match with the goal of winning, not just to improve our results but also to restore confidence among players and fans. We're playing at home at Al Thumama Stadium and this is an opportunity to put in a performance that will give us the edge, and the three points.”
Al Arabi player Michael Olunga, said, “As players, we are just as frustrated as our fans. We know the expectations are high, and we realize that the performance should have been better. Now is not the time for talk but rather the time for action and a response on the pitch.”
