Róger Guedes scored the lone goal as Al Rayyandefeated Al Duhail in a tough clash of Week 3 of the 2025-26 Doha Bank Stars League at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Thursday.

In one of the clearest chances of the night, Krzysztof Piątek had a glorious chance of securing the opener for Al Duhail in the 44th minute, but the Polish striker disappointingly shot straight at the onrushing goalkeeper Mahmoud Abu Nada, who had been in brilliant form for most parts of the half, when put through by Edmílson Junior.

Róger Guedes eventually got the only goal of the match for Al Rayyan in the 61st minute, poking it in after a goalmouth scramble following a set piece by Hazem Ahmed Shehata.

Al Duhail was almost reduced by a man in added time, but the red card initially issued to Ismail Mohamad was later rescinded after a thorough VAR check.

Goalkeeper Abu Nada was named the Player of the Match.
