QSL side Al Duhail have secured the signature of defender Lucas Mendes on a two-year deal. The Brazilian player was signed from El Jaish and has joined the team in their preseason training camp.

The twenty-seven-year-old centre back will be a welcome addition to the Al Duhail back four as he is set to replace Chico Flores, whose contract ended with the team at the end of the season. Mendes was at the heart of the El Jaish defence and helped them to a fourth place finish last season in the QSL.

In other news, Al Duhail have also signed goalkeeper Khalifa Ababacar from El Jaish. The keeper is now expected to join his new team-mates at their preseason training camp in Austria as they prepare for the new season.
