QSL side Al Arabi have been handed a major injury blow ahead of their Saturday afternoon derby match against Al Sadd.
The club confirmed via their official website that influential midfielder Ahmed Abdul Maqsoud will be unavailable for selection for the Sadd game after picking up a calf injury last time out in Al Arabi’s 4-2 defeat against Al Gharafa. Al Arabi’s medical team also noted that the calf injury will see Maqsoud unavailable for ten days.
In other team news, midfielder Ahmed Fatehi continued his rehabilitation with individual training and will be assessed in the coming days for his availability ahead of the match. Edison Aguirre’s side also continued their preparations ahead of their derby matchup with a training session on Tuesday evening.
Al Arabi are currently in eleventh place in the QSL standings and have picked up just six points from seven games.
