QSL side El Jaish has announced the signing of former FC Barcelona midfielder Seidou Keita on a 6 month deal.
Jaish made the official announcement via their website and confirmed that the 36 year old midfielder has been brought in to cover Abdulrazak Hamdullah who is a long term absentee for the soldiers. Keita is expected to be formally introduced to the local media on Thursday morning, along with a host of local signings including Dame Traoré, Hamza Sanhaji and Mohammed Abdrab.
Keita has enjoyed a fine playing career which has included stints at European sides such as Sevilla and Roma. The Malian’s most successful period of his career came whilst with Barcelona where he picked up 15 major trophies in just four years.
Head coach Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping that Keita can hit the ground running, with Jaish currently preparing for their crunch AFC Champions League clash against UAE Arabian Gulf League side Al Nassr on the 24th of August.
