Al Rayyan striker Abderrazaq Hamdallah will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. The Moroccan sustained it during their 4-1 win over Al Ahli in Week 22 of the QNB Stars League on Sunday.

Hamdallah went off the field after just 10 minutes at the Al Sadd Stadium and further tests confirmed his absence in the coming weeks.

The injury-enforced layoff of Hamdallah, the third-best scorer in the just-concluded QNB Stars League with 18 goals, is a big setback for Al Rayyan in the forthcoming Qatar Cup, Emir’s Cup and also AFC Champions League, where they host Al Ain in the last round on 16th April with an eye on the Round of 16 berth.

Al Rayyan finished third in the QNB Stars League with 43 points, behind Al Duhail and Al Sadd in that order.
