Al Rayyan coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 3 match against Al Duhail.
“We are up against strong title contenders. Naturally, the game will be tough. We are correcting the mistakes we committed during our drawn encounter against Umm Salal. I wish we win this time too, having beaten Al Duhail in the Sheikh Jassim Cup.
“We had many opportunities to score against Umm Salal, but we could not score more. We have to improve on certain fronts.
“I am happy with the team at my disposal, but I am not 100 per cent happy. Anyhow, at the end of the season, you will see Al Rayyan fight for many titles. We do not want to drop points unnecessarily.
“Our new recruit Jonathan Menendez, signed in place of Mohsine Moutaouli who moved to Al Ahli, is still waiting for his papers to come from his former club Independiente in Argentina. So the striker is a doubtful starter.
“Key striker Abderrazaq Hamdallah has started training with team-mates, but he has yet to recover fully from his injury he sustained towards the end of last season,” said Rodolfo.
